Upon arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station, transfer to Shillong, with a stop en route to visit umiam lake. Shillong, the first capital of Meghalaya, is nestled among rolling pine-covered hills and enjoys a milder climate compared to tropical India. Situated at an altitude of 1,496 meters, the city has a population of around 270,000.
